Do you know what day is on the 3rd of March in Japan?
It's Hinamatsuri(ひな祭り）, also called Doll's Day or Girl's Day, is for wishing girls growth and happiness.
I was gonna write this article on the 3rd Mar. But i was off. so i'm writing this today.
Well, most families have female children display the dolls at home on that day and they are decorated with peach blossoms, grilled bite of rice cake (above picture), sweet sake.
The dolls are usually displayed for about 20 days before the festival. But when this festival is over, we have to immediately put the dolls away. Because if the dolls are not put away, the girl will not marry at the proper time. It is a only legend. I made you scare, didn't i? Sorry..........
Anyway this festival is celebrated everywhere in Japan even temple and shrine.
