Nice present from our guest and the autumn leaves at Eikan-dou(永観堂）

We had a nice present from our guest.

It's a shaomai(焼売）which is Chinese steam meat dumpling.
The shaomai she gave is very famous in YOkohama(横浜）. 
Actually when i go to Yokohama, i always buy the shaomai bento box(焼売弁当） and eat it on the train. So it is one of my favorite food. I really glad to have them. Thank you!! I look forward to eating them later.

The above photo is the autumn leaves at Eikan-dou(永観堂） in Kyoto.
Our staff went there this Monday. It's very beautiful, isn't it?
The autumn leaves are at their best now.
If you come to Japan in this season, you can enjoy seeing the very beautiful autumn leaves.

Ninja restaurant in Kyoto

I went to Ninja restaurant called "NINJA KYOTO" few days ago.
It is a entertainment restaurant located in Shijyo Shinkyougoku(四条新京極）.
Sometimes our guests visit there.

There is a sign in front of the restaurant.
It is written"Ninja will guide you. please wait here ".
When i waited a bit , the staff, no,no,no...."Ninja" came and took us to the inside.

There is labyrinth attraction before we get to the table.

When we got to the table, Ninja brought us a menu like scroll.

This is a Japanese throwing-knife. No,no,no......it's a cracker.

When we were having a dinner, suddenly "Master  Ninja" came to our table and showed us a special magic performance.
It's a card magic and we all were surprised at his performance.
But he said "This is not a magic, it is the art of Ninja".
Anyway, we enjoyed having a dinner at this  restaurant.

If you come to  Kyoto, try to go this restaurant. 
You will definitely enjoy there!!
It takes 15 mins walk from A-yado.

The funny signboard of no parking

I found a funny signboard of no parking on the small street few days ago.
Can you see the guy on the left side of signboard?
He is showing his tattoo of no parking sign on his shoulder and saying something.
This is a parody of the Japanese drama "Toyama no Kin-san(遠山の金さん）".
Toyama no Kin-san is a popular character and always helps people from villains with showing his tattoo of cherry blossom. His tattoo has something special power.
so when i saw this signboard, i was laughing. Because the guy's tattoo is no parking sign instead of the cherry blossom. I think nobody won't park the car in this area.
I would like Japanese government to put more kind of funny signboard on the street.
If the signboard is funny and remarkable, everyone will look it and try to keep the rule.
I just would like everyone to keep the rule and make the beautiful country together.

Our guest's travel diary

When i went to our living room, our guest was drawing on the long paper like a scroll.
I was very interested in it and asked him "What are you making?".
He said "i'm making the diary with illustrations".
He diary is great!! Needless to say, his drawing is very good. Also he is making the diary on the piece of long paper. I think he could publish it. If he publish it, i will definitely buy it.

There are many wires on the ground in Japan

The big typhoon has swept in Japan through this morning from yesterday.
In Tokyo, there were disruptions of public transportation this morning.
But, in Kyoto, the typhoon has paseed yesterterday and it was sunny day today.
So i was going to show you a beautiful sky in Kyoto on the photo.
But there are many wires on my photo and i think you can't see the sky properly.
Sorry........Well, in Japan there are many wires on the ground compare to other countrues.
Everyone said the reason is "Japan is an earthquake nation" and it is hard to put them in the ground.
Of course, that is true. Also i think the other reason is "Japanese road is very narrow" and it is difficult put all wires in the ground.
But i hope that this problem will be improved as much as possible and wold like you to see more beautiful Japanese scenery.

Las Vegas and Grand Canyon

We went to casino after ate dinner. 

I saw the sign on the road. It's written the Blue Man. He has a keen eye. And look me. I think , it is a warning that Casino is dangerous. But I didn't realize about that. 

I joined the roulette game. I tried a winning strategy. It's the Martingale System.　This system means endless twice bed until win. At first I bed 100 dollar. If lose, I bed 200 dollar. If lose 400 dollar. If I win, I can get money that I bed first time. I use this system. My first bed is 5 dollar. And I have 4 chance. few minute later. I lost all money. I lost 5 times in a row.  

Next day I went to Grand Canyon. I spent about 7 hour in the bus. 

My impressions about Grand Canyon. It's a so Grandeur. I can't often see the view like this in Japan. I saw some wild animal. After tourism, I went back to Las vegas. 

I tried casino again. But I didn't win. Through this experience, I thought I must not play the casino. 

When I leave Las vegas, I saw many slots in airport.Next destination is the Denver.

L.A②(Los Angeles ) and Las vegas

 After Hollywood, I went to Santa Monica. There are many restaurants and shops. I went to there in August. But this is not hot. In Japan temperature is over 30℃ in August. In L.A [Santa Monica] this is less than 30℃ in same season.  That part of the United States is in the same latitude as Japan. But this is cooler than Japan. I envy about that. I went to Hollywood and Santa Monica when I stay L.A.



Next destination is Las Vegas. My purpose is only be a winner. I went to Las vegas by bus.  Bus was running on desert.

Incident was happen in this bus.  One abroad guy said ` Please turn off the cooler` to bus driver. But Another American guy said `Im fine this temperature. So dont turn off`.  Two guys made a quarrel.

When we take break, I talked to my friend about quarrel. And we  laughed together about this. Then American guy ask me `Are you Japanese?` by Japanese. He can speak Japanese. No way! We think there are no Japanese speaker.  Fortunately he didnt heard our talking.

Few hour later, We arrive Las vegas. Who will be winner!?

Making an English menu is difficult

I have been making an English menu of the Japanese Izakaya.
Izakaya is like an English pub, where they serve snacks and food to accompany your drinks.
When i make an English menu of it, there is one thing that it is difficult to explain.
That is O-toshi(お通し）.
Do you know O-toshi?
O-toshi is a small appetizer and servered to every customer when you have aseat. Serving O-toshi is a tradition in Japanese Izakaya.
It is like cover charge.
I think you might not understand this system. Because there is no kind of this system in your country.
But if you go to Japanese Izakaya, you'd better remember this system. Also if you know that, you will avoid the problem caused by this system.

Mist Shower at the bus stop

Autumn is coming soon!!
But it's still hot and humid outside in Kyoto.
Today's maximum temperature is 28.
When i walk outside in the daytime, i am exhausted all the time.
But i found a good place to cool down.
It's a bus stop at Kyoto station.
Can you see the above photo?
There are mist shower at the bus stop.
It's so nice, isn't it?
When i walk through there, i feel very comfortable.
But this service will finish at the end of September.
Only in 3 days!! It's still hot outside!!
I hope this service will continue bit more. I think everyone thinks the same.

Getting Lost, yet Feeling Good ~in Kyoto~

Where am I?  I guess I'm in Kyoto. But, I got lost. 


The sunset is beautiful.


The scenery is nice. I felt the cool breezes as if I'm in the center of a desert. Also the electric cables look beautiful to me.


Then a train goes away in the distance. I don't know where it's bound for.

Yeah, I know getting lost is sometimes shame. But, if I haven't got lost I couldn't see the scenery and couldn't know the beauty of the sunset. I know myself in the sunset scenery feeling good, being impressed.

Oh, I have to go back to home. Where's it? When the night has come, I couldn't say those words, because it's BIG burden to me, if I should sleep on the street. 

I love journey anyway. If without it, I can't feel some good feeling. 
Loving travels, loving travelers! Of course A-yado is such kind of place.

The Japanese comedy show

Have you ever seen the Japanese comedy show before?

 I went to see the famous comedy show called "Yoshimoto Shinkigeki(吉本新喜劇）" few days ago.
Actually, i am a big fan of this comedy show. Because i have been watching this show on TV since i was child.
I still remember that i switched on TV to see this show as soon as i came back home from school and really looked forward to it.

Why i really like this show is i don't have to think anything.
Just laughing and it takes my mind off the worries of everyday life.

There is a place you can see this show around our guest house.
It's called "Gion Kagetsu(祇園花月）" and takes only 5 mins walk from here.
I think you can enjoy this show even if you don't understand Japanese.

Let's try to see the Japanese comedy if you come to Japan!!

L.A①(Los Angeles )

I took the flight at 7:00am. This is very early. But It was so cheap. So I put up.

 About 2 hour later. I arrived L.A. At first, I went to my hostel. And I went to super market to buy something to eat. When I entered super market, it was so cold. And I found amazing things.

  I never seen these things. Cake's color is so bright. I thought My stomach will be heavy feeling, If I eat this. 

 After lunch, I went to central  from station. This central looks like Seattle.

  I found L.A police car. I was excited because I like `Die Hard`. 

 Next I went to Hollywood. I met many Celebrity. First I met spyder man and superman. Second I met Darth Vader. Finally I met Jack Sparrow. We can take picture with them. But we should pay chip. 

 After this I walk around Hollywood. I found Hollywood sign. Impressions are it's same as the picture. 

                                              Next destination is Santa Monica.

Seattle

I had ridden the bus for 3 hour.

                           I arrived immigration of USA.  Incident was happen in here. 

 When I pass the immigration, one staff ask me ` what are these things?` She asked about my cup noodle. ` What kind of food are there?`  I said ` There are beaf , pork , noodle......` I teach about my noodle. But she said ` There is no English information. So We can't understand , what kind of food there are.` After this talking, she took my noodle. I think, Confiscated goods are discarded. But she put on the desk. Maybe my noodle became the lunch of staff.

                     I ride bus again about 3 hour. I arrived Seattle. There are many buildings. 

 And this is Seafco field. It's a MLB Stadium. I stayed this hostel. It looks like American nomal house. 

                                                        This is my room.
 
                                                                 And living room.

  I spent only one night in this hostel and Seattle. My next destination is LA.
