Kamo-gawa River at the beginning of summer

It's the beginning of summer in Kyoto.
Feeling hot and humid, we can remember that this city will get hotter in August than in May (It's still in May today).

And looking at sort of a summer event in the following picture, we are loving summer again.

It's called Noryo-yuka (納涼床, のうりょうゆか).  They are wooden terraces to enjoy dinner or lunch in the cool breezes just in summer. They are connected to various restaurants, which serve you for Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Korean cooking.

And also, Kamo-gawa River(鴨川, かもがわ) itself is a good refreshment to get out from heat.
Please take a dip in the river!

Hi, this is A-yado.

Hi, we are staff of A-yado, a hostel in Kyoto. The hostel is located in Gion(祇園, ぎおん), which is one of the most historical districts in Japan.

The picture above is a 6-story's building we are in.
Well, it doesn't look historical at all.
But aroud our hostel, you will find a lot of histrical and Japanese things.

I took this picture in spring this year.
There are so many cherry blossom trees nearby!
You can go there by walking for 1 minute from our hostel.

Mark "A" is our hostel. A black line is that street.

There are something worth seeing around our hostel in every season!
We will show them in this blog.

See you then!
