The reason our guest comes to Japan this season every year

He is our guest from Australia.
He comes to Japan this season every year.
Do you know why?
Do you think that he comes to Japan to see the beautiful colored leaves every year?
No, no, no................he comes to Japan to work.
He is going to work at restaurant as a chef in Niseko(ニセコ） in Hokkaido(北海道） from 1st Dec.
Hokkaido is a really nice place. There are many snow and you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding.
Anyway, before he starts working, he is going to buy a Japanese knife in Sakai(堺） in Osaka(大阪）. Sakai is famous for Japanese knife.
Even though Japanese knife from Sakai have a only 7% market share in Japanese knife industry, 80% of professional chef use it.
I hope he will serve nice food to the customers with new Japanese knife in Niseko.
Also i'll go to eat his cooking some day!!

International Souvenirs

He is our guest from France.
He is holding a small figure of the Eiffel Tower with a koala and  an American flag.
He found it funny that the Eiffel Tower from France is with an Australian animal and American flag.


All of three are souvenirs from guests who stayed in A-yado before.
We have got lots of souvenirs from our guests from all over the world.
In A-yado you can find many foreign things.


This photo is a good example showing that A-yado is an international place.
The guest in the photo also enjoyed this atmosphere.


Also around A-yado there are some bars and clubs where you can enjoy international exchange.

Kansai Dialect on T-Shirt

He is our guest from Canada.
On his T-shirts there is a Japanese word written.
The word is　"nandeyanen( なんでやねん)".
It is a dialect in Kansai Area,which Kyoto belongs to.


The direct translation of "nandeyanen" is "What(?)"
We use nandeyanen when somebody jokes.
Nandeyanen is a very casual word so we can say it only to somebody who is close to us such as friends.
We never say nandeyanen to our bosses so please be careful when you use it.


Strangely he bought this T-shirt in Kyusyu Area, which is far from Kansai Area.


Anyway This T-shirt looks funny for Japanese people especially those who are from Kansai Area.
Wearing this T-shirt is a kind of joke so we feel like to say "Nandeyanen!?" to this guest.
Asking about this T-shirt must be a good start of conversation and making new friends.

Awaji Island

Awaji island is taken 2 hours by a car from Kyoto.
When you go there, you can take Akashi-channel-bridge that joins Awaji-island with Akashi-city.
And you can go over to Tokushima by Naruto-bridge
In the island, they have good natures and enjoy fishing having swimming and hit regional events or seasonal events

Colored Leaves Starts in Japan in 2013

I went to the Hieizan Mt.(比叡山), which is famous for one of most great Buddhism mountains. If you know about Buddhism very well, perhaps you remember the famous monks. Almost all monks made their practice in Enryaku-ji temple(えんりゃくじ, 延暦寺) located on the top of the mountain. 




The mountain's height is about 1000 meters. So it was cold. And the colored leaves changes into red depending on the cold temperature.



The red leaves and blue sky. I like it.



When I went in the temple, I found a map. It's useful, yet I might get lost. How huge!!


I love the leaves!! It's the most reddest one on 9th of November in the mountain!



The path is also nice.



Oh, you can ring the big bell in a building. 



And also this kind of small sculpture is worth seeing. 



Red Buddhism building is vivid in November. 



But, the sunset come early. Getting colder!! I wear just a t-shirt and a thin jacket. So I go back to the entrance. Near the entrance you can enjoy the pictures of famous monk's histories.

It's a good combination. Colorful pictures and yellow and red leaves.

November is one of the best season to come to Japan because of the colored leaves. Yeah, streets also have the trees and leaves. We enjoy the scenery in our daily lives. We'd like to show the joy of changing season!!

Uyuni ViIlage

I went to Bolivia for going to Uyuni salt lake. So I spent only one night 1 La paz. And I left at night. Time requiring is about 12 hours. So I'll arrive the Uyuni in the morning. By the way, bus was stoped on midnight. In Bolivia , this situation is not rare. I didn't realize at that time this is big problem. About 2 hour later, bus didn't move. And I heard the metallic sound. So I went out the bus.

 Bus was broken. Maybe it was the punk. Some staff tried to repair. But It spent long time. Cooler was turned off when they repaired. Temperature is less than 0℃. So   interior temperature is cold. After all, repairing spent about 4 hours. So I arrived the Uyuni in the noon. Uyuni is very small village.

This is the main street in front of station. I was looking for the tourism company. There are about 30 company in Uyuni. I compared the price. And I choosed vest conditions. I looked forward to going Uyuni salt lake.

The funny signboard of no parking

I found a funny signboard of no parking on the small street few days ago.
Can you see the guy on the left side of signboard?
He is showing his tattoo of no parking sign on his shoulder and saying something.
This is a parody of the Japanese drama "Toyama no Kin-san(遠山の金さん）".
Toyama no Kin-san is a popular character and always helps people from villains with showing his tattoo of cherry blossom. His tattoo has something special power.
so when i saw this signboard, i was laughing. Because the guy's tattoo is no parking sign instead of the cherry blossom. I think nobody won't park the car in this area.
I would like Japanese government to put more kind of funny signboard on the street.
If the signboard is funny and remarkable, everyone will look it and try to keep the rule.
I just would like everyone to keep the rule and make the beautiful country together.
