When i went to our living room yesterday, i saw the different sight as usual.
Because there is aprofessional photographer and taking photos of Kimono ladies.
Of course, Kimono ladies are our guest.
After they were walking around Gion area with Kimono, they came back to our hostel to take photos with other guests.
Look at their face!!
Umm, you can't see properly??
Sorry, my photo is bit blurrred. Because i got nervous to take a photo in front of the professinal photographer. Hahaha......
But they all have good smile!!
Other guest on the photo were also pleased at takng photos with Japanese wearing Kimono.
If you stay at A-yado, you might have a experience like taking photos with Japanese wearing Kimono.

Las Vegas and Grand Canyon

We went to casino after ate dinner. 

I saw the sign on the road. It's written the Blue Man. He has a keen eye. And look me. I think , it is a warning that Casino is dangerous. But I didn't realize about that. 

I joined the roulette game. I tried a winning strategy. It's the Martingale System.　This system means endless twice bed until win. At first I bed 100 dollar. If lose, I bed 200 dollar. If lose 400 dollar. If I win, I can get money that I bed first time. I use this system. My first bed is 5 dollar. And I have 4 chance. few minute later. I lost all money. I lost 5 times in a row.  

Next day I went to Grand Canyon. I spent about 7 hour in the bus. 

My impressions about Grand Canyon. It's a so Grandeur. I can't often see the view like this in Japan. I saw some wild animal. After tourism, I went back to Las vegas. 

I tried casino again. But I didn't win. Through this experience, I thought I must not play the casino. 

When I leave Las vegas, I saw many slots in airport.Next destination is the Denver.

Strange Shrine with Fox Gods

Kyoto is a historical city. It's said the city has about 1500 years. But, actually Kyoto is sort of the oldest city about the history. Also a shrine around my apartment room has 2000 years, I've just heard. The name is Shimogamo-jinaja shrine(下鴨神社, しもがもじんじゃ).



It looks local. And also very old, or somehow, lack of the maintenance.


I found the name "Yachi-yo daimyou-jin(八千代大明神)". I googled the name, but there's no good answer.  Well, it's strange.


The inari, which is a fox god is so vivid. 


They are located at the right and left. Both are so vivid and cool. They are sort of guardians of the shrine. So there's face looks, in a way, very angry.

Before I found a shrine in, somehow, parking lot. It sound strange, if a shrine was in a parking lot. But, Kyoto is such city with the history and strange things come from its history.

 If I found one, I will let you know!!

Drinking a Lot, Enjoy a Lot

When you are blown by the cold winds of October, why don't you drink some cans of beer. Yeah, it's a good way to make your body warm. And of course, you can be more friendly and outgoing to everybody.




But, it's maybe too much... When I went up to the common room of our hostel, almost all guests in the room were drunken. They are really high in spirits. I said "This room is by 1:00". And they went out to bar or izakaya.

Sure. It looks very fun. And everybody knows the fun of drinking and travel. In your travel, meeting friends, you would go out for sight seeing spots and at night for drinking together.

Good! Enjoy them! And please don't forget bringing your valuables, though Japan is a safe country.

L.A②(Los Angeles ) and Las vegas

 After Hollywood, I went to Santa Monica. There are many restaurants and shops. I went to there in August. But this is not hot. In Japan temperature is over 30℃ in August. In L.A [Santa Monica] this is less than 30℃ in same season.  That part of the United States is in the same latitude as Japan. But this is cooler than Japan. I envy about that. I went to Hollywood and Santa Monica when I stay L.A.



Next destination is Las Vegas. My purpose is only be a winner. I went to Las vegas by bus.  Bus was running on desert.

Incident was happen in this bus.  One abroad guy said ` Please turn off the cooler` to bus driver. But Another American guy said `Im fine this temperature. So dont turn off`.  Two guys made a quarrel.

When we take break, I talked to my friend about quarrel. And we  laughed together about this. Then American guy ask me `Are you Japanese?` by Japanese. He can speak Japanese. No way! We think there are no Japanese speaker.  Fortunately he didnt heard our talking.

Few hour later, We arrive Las vegas. Who will be winner!?

In Fushimi-Ward, the Historical Style Japanse Boat

Fishimi ward in Kyoto is famous for Fushimi-inari Shrine. It's an amazing place. When I wanted to count the orange gates, I gave it up when the number reach 100. But, Fushimi ward is not only famous for the shrine, but also other things.


A river in the ward. It looks like the scenery of Edo period. And this lace is popular to shoot movies. It has history.



If you love Japanese saki(酒), strong alcohol drink, you might know Gekkei-kan(月桂冠). This is the museum of Gekkei-kan, which is a saki making company.


Jukkoku-bune is one of the nicest thing in the area. You can get on a Japanese old style boat. And going down to the river.


When you get on it, you might be sleepy. Because the boat is nice to sit down and the river stream is always nice and easy.

Oh, after the boat why don't you try to go to gateways shrine?  You must be clear for the amazing scenery. Yeah, you can enjoy both, the relaxing thing and amazing thing!

Making an English menu is difficult

I have been making an English menu of the Japanese Izakaya.
Izakaya is like an English pub, where they serve snacks and food to accompany your drinks.
When i make an English menu of it, there is one thing that it is difficult to explain.
That is O-toshi(お通し）.
Do you know O-toshi?
O-toshi is a small appetizer and servered to every customer when you have aseat. Serving O-toshi is a tradition in Japanese Izakaya.
It is like cover charge.
I think you might not understand this system. Because there is no kind of this system in your country.
But if you go to Japanese Izakaya, you'd better remember this system. Also if you know that, you will avoid the problem caused by this system.
