Kurama area with a great goblin

You see the long nosed red creature. That is sort of imaginary being, which is called Tengu. And beside it there are autumn colored leaves. The autumn of this year's finished. I took the photo 1 week before.

Here is inside Kurama Sta. Wooden bench and many photo and mask of goblin. I went there at night. So the atmosphere was little bit weird.  

Above the vending machine, there are wooden club hanged from ceiling. Oh, what's this?

Yeah, it looks like a weapon. But, actually it is a big torch.

In the festival of the sign board in the photo, local people in Kurama raise the torches and they make a sort of parades. It's so weird and fantastic.

The Kurama area is located in northern side of Kyoto, the mountain side. When you go there, you  will enjoy the beautiful mountain nature and old temple and shrine, and also hot spring!
Yeah, it's very famous for hot spring :)

Christmas in Kyoto

I can hear the sound or Christmas. I will come to everybody about a half month later.  

Do you love it? Sometimes you may think about religious things of Japanese. Basically, we don't mind them. Buddhism and Shintoism, they look same from our view. It doesn't matter. And also about the Christmas, almost all Japanese don't care about the religion. It seems like just a lovely event from our view. 

That's a sculpture of a metallic lady and the bottom part is like a tree. Or course, Christmas tree! 

I was surprised because the color of bottom part changed. Wow, high technology here!

The Christmas is so lovable. We meet our family, friends, and boy or girlfriends. That is one of the best days to give presents to your lovably people! Yes, we love them too!

Floating city!?

I have found small buildings which floats on the Takase river(高瀬川） when i was walking down the Kiyamachi street(木屋町通り）.

There are several windows in the buildings, but there is no sign that anyone lives there.

Are they looking for someone who can rent these   buildings?

Uhnn.........when i look these buildings again, there are several holes on the roof.
That's why everyone doesn't want to live there.
If it rains, it will be certainly the same as staying in the river. hahaha.........

But it might be comfortable for small fish  to live there even if there are several holes on the roof.
Because they can spawn in the building and they don't need to worry about being attacked by enemies.

Well, all joking aside, you can see the kind of these art everywhere in the city when you come to Kyoto.

Firing Purification Festival in autumn of Japan

On the way to the hostel, I surely pass this shrine. And I find that thing like a vase once in a year. It's in the center of the street in that shrine. 

Just once in a year, the fire purification festival is held in the shrine. Japanese go to shrine to watch it, appreciate the harvest, and hope the health of them and their family. It's called "Ohitaki-matsuri" or "Hitaki-sai".

I couldn't watch it this year! Because my boss was waiting for me. 

OK, next year! Because the festivals of shrines or temples are definitely scheduled. So when I'm off on the day next year, I can go there! 

Please, my boss. I need some days off to enjoy and play.

Serious water bird in Shirakawa River.

I wrote the post about a serious water bird. I saw it again. it was in the another side of bridge.

Did you find it?

It's my lovely serious water bird. But, this time it moved

Yeah, it surprised me! It turn its head.

And it stopped again. For about 10 minutes, it didn't move. I observed it and gave up. It was just one miracle. I love it. I wan it to move. Yeah, that's my problem.

White Coffee

We got a "White Coffee" from our guest of Malaysian.

Do you know what "White Coffee" is?

When i heard it, i thought what is white coffee like.
I think most of Japanese is the same as me.

White Coffee originated in Ipoh of Malaysia.
When they roasted coffee beans, they used only small amount of sugar and margarine.
So it looked whiter than other coffee.
That's why it was named "White Coffee".

Well, it comes to taste............very sweet and rich.
I think it is very drinkable even if people normally do not drink coffee.

Please try to drink if you go to Malaysia.

Eikan-do temple illuminated at night in autumn

If you leaned some kanji, you may know this character carved on a stone in the photo. It's written "和", which simply means "Harmony".

I went to the illumination at Eilan-do temple. That was so nice!! I watched many colored leaves, which were deep red. The autumn is a great season!

This sculpture is very peaceful. According to the angles, you may find another facial expression. 

The building and leaves. And a front one is a stone mark.

The lake reflected the leaves and lights. When you look at the bridge in the photo, it looks like parallel. That reflection was perfect.

I enjoyed the illumination. But, I'm not satisfied my photos. Because my camera is not really good. So I can't take a photo in a darker side. I wanna new one! Yet, I will use this camera, saying "Mottainai", which means "what a waste and it can be useful".
